Terms of Use
Last updated: October 28, 2026
These terms apply to your use of Catchment Care (the "site"), operated by eliemedia, Vancouver, British Columbia ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. What the site is
Catchment Care is a free information tool for finding licensed childcare in British Columbia. We are not a childcare provider, a licensing body, or a government service, and we are not affiliated with the Government of British Columbia.
2. Data source and attribution
Facility information comes from the BC Data Catalogue "Child Care Map Data" dataset and contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – British Columbia. Address search uses the BC Address Geocoder. The Province of British Columbia does not endorse this site.
3. Accuracy — always confirm
Information on the site may be incomplete or out of date. Vacancy information is self-reported by providers and is shown with the date we last received it. Before making any decision, confirm details such as vacancies, fees, hours, ages served, and licence status directly with the provider and with BC child care licensing (your regional health authority). The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
4. No endorsement or rating
Listing a facility does not mean we recommend, rate, inspect, or endorse it. You are responsible for choosing a childcare provider that suits your family.
5. Sponsored listings and advertising
We may offer providers paid options such as featured placement, an enhanced profile, or a link to their own waitlist. Paid placements will always be clearly labelled "Sponsored". Sponsorship never changes the licensing, vacancy, funding, or inspection information we show, and does not affect the order of regular search results except in clearly labelled sponsored spots.
6. Links to other sites
The site links to provider websites, government pages, and inspection reports that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
7. Acceptable use
- Do not scrape or bulk-download the site in a way that disrupts it.
- Do not use information from the site to send spam or unsolicited commercial messages.
- Do not try to interfere with the site's security or operation.
The underlying government data is available directly from the BC Data Catalogue under its own licence.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its information.
9. Corrections
If you are a provider and your listing is wrong, please update it with BC child care licensing so the official dataset is corrected; our site refreshes from that dataset. You can also let us know using the contact details on our About page.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
